"The eARTh Poster Project for Earth Day" has been launched as a joint
effort between Earth Day Network and artday network, and we are calling for
artists and creators to help us create an Earth Day 2005 poster!

Have you ever noticed that there is "ART" right in the middle of the
word, "eARTh"? This makes us believe that art is significant in our
quest to keep our planet beautiful and in peace.

The eARTh Poster project is about creating a poster for Earth Day 2005,
using Images created by participating artists from all over the world in a
collaborative manner.

The theme of Earth Day Network for 2005 is "healthy environments for
children." We are inviting artists from every region to help us create
a collaborative poster which will call for healthy environments for children.

Posters will be sent out to the network members of Earth Day across the
planet. We believe this action will promote the mission of Earth Day Network
which is to build broad-based citizen support for sound, workable
and effective environmental and sustainable development policies for
all.

The poster will also be part of a collaborative art exhibition
which will be held in many parts of the world.

Please enter your art work! Help us create together a beautiful
testament to our connection with the Earth and with each other!

How to submit your artwork!

1) Create an original art work under the theme as follows.

Theme: healthy environments for children

2) Image size (resolution) must be 2756 pixel (w) x 1378 pixel (h)
If the size is not correct, we might have to trim the image to fit the
frame.

3) Deadline: February 15, 2005

4) Email the following required information with the artwork attached:

About us!

* What is Earth Day? = a day to celebrate our Earth! =
Since 1970, Earth Day has been an annual event for people around the world
to celebrate our Earth and our responsibility towards it. Earth Day is owned by
no one and open to everyone. It has become an annual event in communities
across the planet and is a great opportunity to bring people together
for the common good.
The official date of Earth Day is 22 April. Earth Day events are often
scheduled for the weekends before or after 22 April.

* What is artday? =a day to enjoy art as a part of our life = artday is
a worldwide celebration of art scheduled to take place each year on the
second dayof July. Why July 2nd? Because it's at the very center of the year
just as art is at the very center of the word "earth," as well as a central element
in so many events in our lives.

* What is the eARTh project
eARTh project was first started in 1999 by the R2001 Project, a
collaborative artist's network. It is an online art workshop, an experiment to create
a map of humanism using images created by the people from all over the world.

Important information about the artwork

* Every art work sent in by the above deadline will be included in the poster.
But if artday network and Earth Day Network finds that the work does not meet the
theme of healthy environments for children, or if it is against moral decency or
otherwise offensive, then it may not be included in the poster.

* The final size of each image will vary depending on the number of submissions.

* All submitted artworks will be treated as a donation made to the Earth Day Network.

* The copyright of the submitted artwork belongs to the author of the artwork but
once the image is sent in, Creative Commons License (defined below) will be applied.
